Family succession plan

More often than not, disagreements among the owners can threaten a company's existence. Which is why it is advisable to organise the sphere of ownership in advance. A family succession plan, worked out together, has the aim of consolidating the success of the company in the long run via efficient working practices and stable structures. In that process, however, it is not enough to draw up extensive contracts in the hope of laying down the relationships between shareholders and ensuring the best-possible tax framework for assets management. Permanently stable owner structures are based on common values, a joint vision and dealings with one another that are rooted in mutual trust and respect.

In any family, all the members tend to be affected by succession issues even if not directly concerned. Since even the tried-and-tested may have to be called into question, it sometimes makes sense, when the time comes to revise the succession plan and the implementation of suitable measures, to turn to a person of trust who is not directly involved.
